Otford to Bundeena (The Coast Track)

I heard about this track a couple years ago when a friend of mine recommended the trail as running ground to practice for the Oxfam 100km Trailwalk. After walking this track a couple weeks ago, all I can say is respect for any bush runners, it is no Sunday stroll in the park! I can say hands down, this is the most beautiful track I have ever experienced in Sydney so far (beats the Great North Walk and the Taronga Zoo to Manly – more on that in a future post). The views are spectacular and would be ideal spots for a spring picnic, a quiet yoga session or a dip in the secluded beaches. This is definitely a must-do track and I could just imagine spending my long summer days at the beaches here :)

Track: Otford to Bundeena
Distance: 26km
Transport: We drove which is $11 for entry into the National park. You could also catch the train to Otford and catch the ferry from Bundeena to Cronulla station.
Difficulty: There are two ascents which are fairly high and medium level of difficulty. The rest is quite flat or relatively easy descents.

The view at the start in Otford

Destination: Bundeena!

Treacherous walking paths hehe

This was a typical view when I took a look behind my shoulder :)

The most stunning view of one of the many secluded beaches :)

The track is right at the edge of the coast!

Breathtaking...

Can you spot the eagle?

Being so close to the edge of a cliff was so surreal!

I think this rock looks like a tofu! hehe

Altitude at the Shangri-La Sydney

Wow I cannot believe it's been nearly two weeks since I've blogged! Time has just flown! I have been quite busy and I have lots of ideas for some upcoming posts! Spring is well and truly here and I am so excited for summer which naturally calls for some summer fitness / health / wellbeing posts!

For now, I wanted to share some snaps of the yummy birthday dinner for one of my closest friends at Altitude in the Shangri-La Sydney. The restaurant boasts stunning views of sydney harbour from the 36th floor of the hotel and definitely brings a romantic atmosphere with the dim lighting (it's hard to see your food!). We all ordered the four-course menu which lets you choose which dishes you would like which is good for me, especially when there is fois gras on the degustation menu! *phew*

Delicious sour dough bread. Yes, this was amazing, especially when smothered in butter!

Cured yellow fin tuna (these were quite large in size!) One bite and it tasted great, but after a few more bits, this dish became really fishy lol

Seared Sea Scallop (my favourite dish! nomnom). Cooked to perfection! I would have been happy with this as a main dish!

Roast Rangers valley beef fillet (those cubes are smoked bone marrow)  (my friend's dish)

Slow cooked guinea fowl breast (my friend's dish)

Palmer's Island Mulloway (my main - by this time I was all fished-out!) The sauce was amazeballs! The fish was cooked very well and was so soft and tender...Could not finish it though :(

Caramelised banana (my friend's dessert) The sauce...was heaven in my mouth!!!!

Warm chocolate fondant (my dessert yum!)Very very rich fondant, would have paired well with a nice bitter coffee :) Did not enjoy the icecreams...was wayyy too sweet for my tooth!

The petit fours (chocolate ganache and turkish delight)

Cocktails! I had the hello kitty :) it was a strawberry mojito drink. so yummy and refreshing :)

Nails Inc!!

Hello lovelies :) I really wanted to share these nailpolishes with you all since I purchased them back in August!! The three nailpolishes are by Nails Inc and I absolutely love them!! I saw these at the Beauty and Spa Expo and bought 3 polishes for $25!  You can purchase these online at Asos or Beauty Bay.  My favourite one of the lot is "Shoreditch", I love pinks and reds so this neon pink definitely caught my eye! I was also quite fascinated with the blue polish "Baker Street" and I simply adore the 3D glitter polish "Sloane Street" (although it took a good 20 mins to get it off!)

The consistency, opaqueness and colour is amazing and I am excited to get my hands on more colours from Nails Inc! Check out the swatches below and let me know what you think :)

As always, I used Sally Hansen Maximum Growth base coat and Out The Door topcoat. Colours L-R: Baker Street, Shoreditch, Sloane Street

Natural makeup tutorial - "Pistol" featuring the Naked 2 palette

I have recently fallen in love with the Naked 2 palette all over again and decided to do a tutorial mini-series featuring the metallic shades in the palette.

Today I am showcasing "Pistol" a beautiful dark grey which is very versatile - the colour that ends up on your eyelids depends on the brush you use!  For most of the eyeshadow application, I used the Sigma E25 which is my all time favourite eyeshadow brush (I only have one, I really need to order a back-up incase anything happens to this one...) By using this brush, it creates a wash of the Pistol eyeshadow all over the eyelid which isn't too heavy for a daytime makeup look :)

The photos below are without flash and with flash, respectively.

Products used:
Naked 2 palette
The Balm tinted moisturiser
Garnier roll-on concealer
Inglot face powder
Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion
Pixi nude palette
Maybelline line stiletto liquid eyeliner
Maybelline Falsies Flared mascara
Gorgeous cosmetics lipstick in rose velvet

Jazushi in Surry Hills

This year I spent my birthday with the girls at Jazushi - a cozy Japanese restaurant offering live jazz. I loved the food, the company and the entertainment, it was definitely a memorable night :)  We ordered the set menu which was just absolutely divine - Japanese food is just sooo good!

First course was Salmon and Kingfish Carpaccio.

Second course was Green Tea Noodle salad. This was honestly the best salad I have ever tasted. The dressing was super delicious. I could have easily eaten another plate of this!!

Third course was the Grilled Silver Cod - melt in your mouth goodness!!

Fourth course was the famous camembert tempura - everyone loved the texture and the taste of this :)

Fifth course was a selection of sushi and nigiri

Sixth course was the JFC (Jazushi Fried Chicken) which came with a "namban" type of sauce.

Seventh course was the Kakuni Kurobuta Pork Belly.

Eighth course was the Wagyu Sirloin steak.

Ninth course was dessert! Creme Brulee with cheese cake and a green tea icecream!

Spring OOTD #1 and Lookbook.nu!

I wasn't sure if I wanted to upload my first spring OOTD on Youtube - the lighting was just horrendous and editing a video is not like editing photos, you can't fix the colours or vibrance on my video editing software. Boo.  Nevertheless I decided to post it up so here it is (so just ignore the terrible lighting).

As this is the first OOTD for Spring I have opened a Lookbook.nu account! Find me HERE.
